Food Recap: Los Angeles

Good morning everyone!

Today is my last California post! I didn’t think it would take me so long to share everything, but I saved the best for last: a foodie post. Besides the ocean and perfect weather, one of my favorite things about southern California is it food galore. It has delicious food, cute food, and the newest food trends that are happening. I’m always look for new places to check out when I’m in the city.

85°C Bakery Cafe
I love this bakery so much! It’s located in Pasadena, and has a huge array of baked goods to choose from. There is so much that it is actually self served in a way. On a corner of the cafe is all these delicious pastries and baked goods kept warm. You grab a tray and tong, and start grabbing everything delicious you see. Everything is so incredibly fluffy and warm. It’s been so long that I actually don’t remember what pastries I had gotten, but all the ones in the pictures were delicious. I also recommend trying their iced coffee!

Wiki Poki
After checking out the Bradbury building, my cousins and I headed to Koreatown to grab something to eat. We ended up choosing poki bowls, which is basically a chipotle bowl but of sushi items instead. You get to choose your sides, the main seafood and garnishes. Wiki Poki was a great first experience for me! The staff was friendly and the fish were so fresh and delicious. I wish DFW has poki bowls. It’s so much more fresh and lightweight on the stomach then Chipotle.

Honeymee
Oh my goodness, this is such an amazing dessert. The last time I had Honeymee was in Korea, and it was so delicious. The menu is limited, but everything on it is good. My cousins and I shared vanilla ice cream with real honey and bit of granola. Sweet, but not too sweet. Just the way I like it! You could even have an actual honeycomb added to your ice cream if you’d like.

Snow Monster
If you are ever in Orange County, please do yourself a favor and stop by Snow Monster. The concept it very simple, ice cream between macaroons. But something about their macaroons is so delicious. It’s quite a chewy texture (which I love) and the macaroon shells themselves are sweet. That’s unusual since usually the sweet part of the macaroon is the filling. It was all just a perfect combination. They also have some drinks in cute jars! I’m forever craving this place until I get the chance to visit it again.

Anaheim Packing District – Crepe Coop
Anaheim Packing District is a building full of delicious concoctions! It’s smaller than I expected, but did not disappoint. The interior and decorations were so cute, and the food was good. I originally visited to try out Popbar, an extremely popular popsicle place, but it closed 15 minutes before we got there. Instead I went for crepes at Crepe Coop. I ended up having a special called the mini red velvet seasonal crepe, which is a red velvet batter crepe filled with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate chips, andes mint, and topped with powdered sugar. It fills you up super easily and is perfect for anyone with a sweet craving!

Zero Degrees
This is another popular destination for many foodies. However, I wasn’t as satisfied with Zero Degrees as with Snow Monster. They specialize in various drinks that you can purchase in cute bottles like this one, which is what attracts most people. I had the Strawberry and Creme, which tasted like bits of strawberries in milk with lots of sugar. I probably wouldn’t visit this place again, but my cousin highly recommended their boba sundae!

More Than Waffles
I have nothing but good things to say about More Than Waffles. It’s located the center of a strip in Encino. Their menu is so big that it’s quite overwhelming at first, but anyone who visits is sure to find their cup of tea. I personally fell in love with the Love Waffle, which was Belgian waffle coated in chocolate with strawberries, vanilla ice-cream and whipped cream. It was so good that I came back to the restaurant twice for it. My cousin had the egg benedict, which he recommends as well. I’d personally say go for the waffles if you are at More Than Waffles! The service and staff is superb as well.

Well that concludes my latest California trip. I’ll definitely be back again soon! Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday xx
